Regenerative X Makes Courtesy Visit At UNIMAS

In the world of academia and research, collaboration is often the key to unlocking new discoveries and fostering innovation. Recently, a significant step in the direction of scientific progress was taken during a productive courtesy visit at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), where Regenerative X Association representatives engaged with Dr. Mohamad Hilmi and his dedicated team. The meeting laid the groundwork for potential collaborations in raising awareness, scientific research, and data collection in the field of agroforestry.

Dr. Mohamad Hilmi, who hails from the faculty of resource science and technology, has a strong background in agroforestry, making him a valuable asset in exploring the uncharted territories of this field. The visit, which was marked by stimulating discussions and the exchange of ideas, provided an ideal platform for the two institutions to align their goals and embark on a journey of cooperation.

Agroforestry, the practice of integrating trees and shrubs with agriculture, holds immense potential in addressing critical global challenges such as climate change, deforestation, and sustainable food production. By blending ecological principles with traditional farming, agroforestry can promote the conservation of biodiversity, soil fertility, and water resources, making it a sustainable approach to land use.

The discussions during the visit touched upon a variety of topics, ranging from the impact of agroforestry on the environment to its role in enhancing food security and rural livelihoods. Both parties acknowledged the urgent need for comprehensive scientific research and data collection to better understand and promote the benefits of agroforestry.
